First Impressions -- Career Interest Survey -- True Colors Assessment
Juniors and Seniors begin their day by exploring the significance of first impressions, whether in person, on a resume, or through social media.
Juniors participate in the True Colors Assessment, helping them identify how their strengths could translate into the workforce. This activity also offers valuable insights into understanding themselves and recognizing the diverse "colors" of others. Seniors kick off their day with the Career Interest Survey, which presents a variety of job titles aligned with their personal interests. During this session, professionals from each of the 16 career sectors are available to share insights about their fields, providing students with a deeper understanding of potential career paths. |
Career Exploration with Employers
In the second part of their day, juniors and seniors have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of employers from throughout Wayne County. This experience is invaluable for students, offering them the chance to explore various industries, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the diverse career sectors that make up the local economy. It’s an exciting way for students to see firsthand the many opportunities available to them in their community. For employers, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your business, connect with motivated young individuals, and build relationships with the upcoming workforce. It’s a mutually beneficial experience that helps students make informed career choices and provides employers with access to the talent of tomorrow.
