Former Elder-Beerman Pedestrian Bridge Demolition and Road Closure

​The demolition of the pedestrian bridge connecting the former Elder-Beerman store to the adjacent parking garage is tentatively scheduled to commence on November 18, 2024, and is expected to continue through November 25, 2024. During this period, South 7th Street will be closed to all traffic between East Main Street and South Service Drive to ensure safety and facilitate the demolition process. The alley on the north side of the parking garage will also be closed to both vehicular and pedestrian access. Pedestrian traffic on the east side of South 7th Street will be restricted. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and seek alternative routes to navigate the area.
