Business Education Committee
The Business Education Committee serves as the Chamber's think tank for all issues surrounding workforce development. The Wayne County community is fortunate to have numerous educational opportunities available to students of all ages, including adults. This committee helps connect the dots between what exists and what is needed.
This year, the Business Education Committee has continued to grow and improve the programs they have been developing over the past few years. At the forefront of these improvements are the area high school job fairs for graduating seniors. At the high school job fairs, students explore college and career opportunities, and they have a chance to connect with employers in a professional setting. Students participate in workshops leading up to the job fairs that help identify their own strengths and weaknesses and career pathways that exist in Wayne County. The Chamber has continued to partner with United Way to provide monthly career exploration videos for middle school students. These videos highlight one employability skill each month and are demonstrated at a unique employer each month. The Business Education Committee meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 8:30 am Contact Roxie at Roxie@WCAreaChamber.org for more information. |
