​HYPE Wayne County: Helping Young Professionals Engage

HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Engage) Wayne County is the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce's newest committee, designed to connect, develop, and empower the next generation of leaders. Focused on supporting young professionals ages 21–40, HYPE bridges the gap between employers and the emerging workforce, providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and community engagement.

Previously operating as an independent 501(c)(3), HYPE has expanded its vision under the Chamber to offer more robust programming tailored to the needs of young professionals in Wayne County and the surrounding areas.

Develop
HYPE is committed to helping young professionals grow professionally and personally. Through workshops, panels, and mentoring opportunities, HYPE provides tools to build confidence, leadership skills, and career readiness.

One of our cornerstone programs is WC Leads, a leadership development cohort that runs as a part of HYPE. This initiative equips participants with hands-on leadership training, personalized coaching, and community-focused projects to prepare them for impactful roles in the workplace and beyond.

Engage
We create meaningful experiences that allow young professionals to connect with peers, employers, and community leaders. Whether through casual networking or community-focused events, HYPE helps members expand their personal and professional circles.

Empower
​HYPE encourages young professionals to have a voice in their workplaces and communities. Members are inspired to lead, advocate for themselves, and make a lasting impact where they live and work.

HYPE Wayne County is an action committee of the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce. Their Board of Directors oversees the committee's operations. The Board of Directors votes for a committee chair each year. The HYPE Wayne County committee will vote to have one of their members serve as a representative of young professionals on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. One Chamber staff member will serve as the staff lead for the committee.
