Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce Unveils New Chamber Health Insurance Plan

​The Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to be teaming up with UnitedHealthcare to announce a new benefit for members: the UnitedHealthcare Community Chamber Program.

Through this new program, Chamber member businesses will have access to quality employee health insurance at competitive rates. The program touts savings of up to 25 percent with strong benefits.

“Launching a healthcare plan has been a long-term goal of our board that began three years ago,” said Chamber President and CEO Melissa Vance. “Navigating legislation and regulation with our partners at the US Chamber has been an arduous process, but I am extremely pleased we are finally able to offer this benefit to our members.”

Starting today, the UnitedHealthcare Community Chamber Program is available to Chamber members at no additional cost.  Businesses will access the plan through their local Chamber member insurance agent.  “It was important to us that we helped member agents maintain relationships with their clients, and United Healthcare was instrumental in ensuring this could happen,” Vance said.

The plan most likely benefits those with 50 employees or less.  It offers a large local and national network, $0 copays for children’s doctor visits and virtual visits, and a wellness plan. 

“Small businesses often struggle to attract or retain employees due to lack of available benefits,” said Board Chair Katie Alyea. “It is simply too costly for many of them to offer health insurance on their own.  Thankfully, we can now provide an option.”

Businesses interested in accessing the UnitedHealthcare plan may contact their existing insurance agent or request a quote directly from UnitedHealthcare on the Chamber’s website. UnitedHealthcare will make a connection with a certified Chamber member insurance agent to provide assistance and act as a local liaison.
